A Note from our women’s leadership
Good morning women at Awaken. This is Aileen Ostendorff from Nairobi, Kenya. Howard and I are here for some meetings with our Freedom in Christ people in Kenya and then on to Rwanda on Wednesday for meetings there. The report of the Lord among His people in Kenya is good! We see our brothers and sisters growing in their walks with God in wonderful ways. Just ask me and I will tell you when I return.
You may wonder why I am writing a letter to you?!
Well, God has lead our wonderful Women's Ministry leader Erin Bridges to step down from leadership. As I have been a part of her team for the last year I have grown in my passion to serve at Awaken in this ministry. So as we met to say "Good-bye" to her as a leadership team I offered to lead the team as an interim leader until God shows us who might take that role on permanently. so for now I will be the one communicating with you as well as Amanda Butler and Cheryl Turner.
We want you to be encouraged that this ministry will not lag as Erin has left us. Though we will miss her greatly. God has His hand on us and will take us forward as we serve him as the army of women at Awaken.
I want to leave you with this verse.
"You, God, will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself is the Rock eternal." -Isaiah 26:3-4
Erin would say to you, I am reminded by this verse, our hope and trust as women at Awaken is not in a person but in our God who is ever faithful.
I will be visiting the Significant Woman course from time to time so I will see some of you there. I look forward to Sat. Oct 5th when we will gather for a morning of prayer. I am praying to see many of you there!
