Email Sam Frye, our Connections Pastor, at samlfrye@gmail.com with what areas that you are interested in or any questions you may have. Once you have done that, Sam will guide you through the process. You can also sign up at the Next Steps table each Sunday morning during our worship experience. We want to help you get connected and join our team!
VOLUNTEER TEAMS: Every single week, our volunteers give their time and skills to serve others. Awaken Church has four areas of ministry that are broken down into multiple volunteer teams.
GUEST SERVICES
Next Steps
This team is valuable because it assists people in taking their next Step with Awaken Church. You will help facilitate the different stations at the Next Steps table and answer any questions our guest may have.
Greeter: With every smile and hello, this team demonstrates the love of God. Greeters are friendly, energetic and talkative. You will have the opportunity to make a lasting impression in their life through one short conversation. People who feel loved and accepted are more likely to respond to the sermon.
Parking Team:
Everything begins in the Parking lot. This is the first impression that our guests experience at Awaken. This team, along with all our other teams, is very intentional. It is not about putting cars in parking spaces, but creating an environment that people feel loved, accepted, and welcomed. The parking team is an excited, friendly and smiling group of people who are the first face of Awaken.
PRODUCTION
Audio Team
This team controls all the sound that happens during our worship experience. So if you like loud music, this is your team. The duties include setting up the audio systems, managing the wireless equipment, testing all the equipment, among other responsibilities.
Set-up Team
If you’re passionate about setting up the environment for God to work in people’s life, then this is your team. Our Set-up Team is dedicated to one thing, creating an “over the top” experience for our guest. Volunteers on this team arrive early and go at it, unloading our U-haul truck, and taking the equipment where it needs to go.
Tear-down Team
This team is exactly the way it sounds, they tear things down. When the day wraps up, the Teardown Team comes in to disassemble and load all the equipment into our U-haul truck for the next Sunday.
Video Team
Do you love screens and graphics? This team is responsible for setting up the screen, projectors, monitors and anything else related to video. It will keep you busy most Sundays if you're a part of the Video Team.

FAMILY MINISTRIES
AwakenKids Check-in
Greet parents and kids, guide parents through the check-in process, be prepared to answer any questions or concerns parents may have about AwakenKids, and help escort new families to the appropriate class(es).
Resource Team
Works during the week to purchase and/or gather supplies needed for the AwakenKids Environments, and helps distribute them to the appropriate classes on Sundays.
PRESCHOOL ENVIRONMENTS:
Lead Teacher: 6wks-2yrs Creates a fun and safe environment by playing with and reading stories to the children as well as leading the children in a simple lesson that includes songs and activities.
Assistant Teachers: 6 wks-2yrs Help the Lead Teacher to create the appropriate environment for the children.
Lead Teacher: 3yrs-5yrs Creates a fun and safe environment by leading the children in a lesson that includes songs, crafts, and activities.
Assistant Teachers: 3yrs-5yrs Help the Lead Teacher with the craft, activities, and songs.
ELEMENTARY ENVIRONMENT:
Host
An energetic, outgoing person who memorizes a script and leads the large group time from the stage.
Singer
Learns the words and motions to songs and leads from the stage during the large group time.
Small Group Leader
Leads a group of children through activities and discussions that are based on what was taught during the large group time.
Production
Leads the set-up of the sound and lighting in the room and runs the computer and sound board.
ADMIINISTRATION
Office - Data Entry Team
This team enters our First time guest information into our data system that we received during our worship experience. This team has all the information entered by Monday afternoon.
Office – First Time Guest Callers
This team makes phone calls to guests who attended Awaken for the first time the previous weekend. They get to talk to a lot of people and hear a lot of stories!
