Dear friends and family,
Can you envision a land where poverty, hardship, hunger and a lack of resources both spiritually and physically keep many from hearing the Gospel of Jesus Christ?
Tiffany and I are incredibly eager to tell you we will be traveling to Romania in November 2016. God has been gracious to bring us this opportunity to serve his people both in the US and overseas in this developing nation.
Over the past few years Tiffany and I have fervently prayed to become parents. After many hardships we have been left without child. That however as easy as it may seem, has not discouraged us. We feel that through this process of becoming parents God has shown us that he is in complete control of all things. We tend to interject and help things along to only find through divine circumstance that God has again taken the wheel. Through those experiences we remain true to Gods faithfulness and provisions. Those events have led us to an openness to serve that we’ve never experienced before. He has shown us that it’s ok to stand outside of our comfort zone.
In the past I have served in the local church to teach youth and young adults. I’ve also led men’s groups and have been a part of a local mission trip to Charleston SC after the shooting event of Emanuel AME. Tiffany has led women’s groups as well as inner city ministries for the homeless, and led online ministries through blogging and social media. She has enhanced my heart for missions as this has been a passion of hers for some time. Having been a part of individual ministries, we are thrilled to travel to Romania together.
Our one-week trip will focus on coming alongside a Romanian church to help them both spiritually and materially. If we can help strengthen and encourage the Romanian church then it will be better equipped to carry on the Gospel when we leave. Here’s a little more detail:
First, we will be allowing God to work in our lives through the personal enrichment that comes from this type of a mission trip. I’m certain God will change our lives greatly as a result of stepping out to serve Him in this important area.
Second, we will be facilitating church services in Cluj
Third, we will be working with children in orphanages and schools in Cluj
Fourth, we’ll be working alongside our contact Florin in Romania to help his ministry to the Romanian people.
Lastly, we will be evangelizing in the streets of Cluj in an effort to spread the gospel to everyone, everywhere, every day.
We are excited about the opportunity and experiences that lie ahead. When our pastor presented the opportunity to get out of our comfort zone and simply go, we couldn’t shake the incredible urgency we felt to obey God’s command to go to the ends of the earth.
To spread the gospel in Romania we are asking for your help!
