Romania Team Support - The McEndarfers

Jed Stevens

Hi all! It’s the Macs. We want to give you an update on how the Lord has been using us to reach the nations since we have been married. As many of you know, we traveled to Nepal in November of 2015 for a week-long trip in the Himalayas. What an experience! We had the opportunity to pray over hurting and broken people as they had lost everything they owned in the devastating earthquakes that took place in May 2015.

One of the most memorable experiences was watching three generations of family members digging up their home brick by brick, just to begin rebuilding their home once removing the entire foundation. We were heart-broken as their hospitality and thankfulness was far greater than their immediate circumstance. The Nepali pastor we were travelling with shared a brief devotional about God’s faithfulness in every circumstance and we prayed over them. Tears came. Tears from the Hindu believers. We do not know if they were saved by the grace of Jesus Christ in that moment, but we know we had planted a seed.

We are here to tell you that we are about planting seeds. We are about proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ in nations unlike our own. We want to make His name known and not our own. We want Him to be lifted high. We want the Holy Spirit to call us out of our comfort zone and show us the truth of this corrupt and helpless world. We begged God to break our hearts for the nations!

As we lay asleep in our freezing hotel room in Nepal, only a couple of days into our trip, God broke our hearts. I (Christian) immediately awoke from sleep in tears. The Holy Spirit was showing me that we had to continue going – going to the nations. Ethan woke up likely due to my excessive crying. God had given him the same burden for the nations. It was about 2am Nepal time when we praying and asking God where he was sending us next. At breakfast with our Pastor, we expressed this fire and passion that God had given us and told him we wanted to go to Romania the next year.

To make a long story short, we are honored to be helping organize a trip of 20+ individuals to go to Romania this fall. We will be in country beginning November 12th and return home November 18th. We are not asking for financial support, but we are asking for prayer. We will be sharing our faith and loving on kids in the Romania school system, orphanages and the church community we are going to support. We will be worshipping in the Romanian church and ministering to the homeless community. We desperately want to see God move in the lives of the lost and hurting. Whether that is in another nation or in the city of Columbia, SC where we currently reside, we want to make God’s mission our mission.

“And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. God therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28:18-20a, ESV)

So will you pray with us? Will you dare to pray for the nations? Will you pray for our team as we prepare to go to Clug, Romania in November? Would you dare to pray for the disciples of Christ in all the world? Would you dare to ask God how you can make a difference in the lives of the lost today?
