Women’s Book club

Book Club Fall 2017.jpg

Join us as we host our first Awaken Women’s Book Club! We will meet weekly for food and conversation as we work our way through a great book over the course of the semester.

The book we have selected for this initial offering is "Come & Eat: A Celebration of Love and Grace Around the Everyday Table" by Bri McKoy.  Through her experiences and insights Bri reminds us that fellowship rooted in God's love is a balm for our souls which are too often over-extended and under-nourished these days.

In Bri's words, 'it's at the table filled with food and humans that I most understand God's words, 'I am with you' and in our gathering and togetherness we respond, 'we are with You and we are with Your people'.  It is our prayer that this book will invite us as women into conversations about how our time around the table with family, friends, neighbors and even strangers can be used to build relationships, to heal hurts, to strengthen bonds and to ultimately share the love of Jesus with those at our tables, whomever they may be.
