Our primary responsibility as a Student Ministry is to partner with parents to love, serve and disciple their children. We believe that students are not a separate entity in the church, but just as much a part of the Awaken family.
We desire to provide a fun and an engaging environments for students to experience the Gospel while being discipled by adult mentors and their peers.
Here are some ways you can get involved at AwakenStudents:
SUNDAY MORNINGS at 9:30am and 11:00am
We intentionally involve our students in our two morning gatherings. During these morning gatherings we sit together "FRONT n CENTER". Meaning we sit in the first several rows of the auditorium.
We also disciple our students to get involved in some aspect of our two gatherings. Our students volunteer in AwakenKids, on the tech team, in the band, on our guest service teams, as ushers, and several others areas.
We meet at the church building Sunday evenings from 5:00pm - 7:00pm. Sundays@Five are meant to be a place where students can belong, learn about Jesus, and be sent out on mission each week.
We teach from the Bible in two ways during Sundays@Five: 1. We will teach through a book of the Bible and 2. We create relevant teaching series where we teach on topics relevant to students. Topics like dating, depression, identity, friendship and more. Our hope is that Sundays@Five will expose you to who Jesus is and help you fall more and more in love with Him.
The BEST PART… We have caring adult volunteers who we call "mentors". Our mentors love you and will make you feel a part of the family! //AwakenStudents is a place for anyone - so whether you are just checking out Jesus or if you have been following Him for a long time, we would love to meet you and have you a part of the family.
We also strongly believe in taking a personal responsibility to developing habits that allow you to grow as a disciple. Here are some resources you can utilize to help you grow:
SCG (STUDENT COMMUNITY GROUPS)
During our Sunday@Five, we break //AwakenStudents into SCG’s. An SCG is a group of students your age. We do this so we can help disciple you in a more intentional way. Meaning, your SCG will become like a second family to you. A group of guys or girls who you can have fun with, learn what it means to follow Jesus with, celebrate with and turn to in a time of need.
We also hold a Student Leadership SCG every other Wednesday. This is a place for you to go a little deeper in your walk with God.
To find out when our next Wednesday Night SCG is, please e-mail Brad Whitelaw at firstname.lastname@example.org
At //AwakenStudents we do events not simply to have fun, but to create shared experiences to help you connect with other students and create lasting memories together.

We love parents! You are, and always will be, the greatest influence in the life of your teenager... Research proves it time and again your voice as a parent is the loudest in your students life. That is why now is the greatest opportunity for you to make a forever impact in the life of your child. It is also a great opportunity for us at //AwakenStudents to partner with you and cheer you on in the discipleship process.
